This year was a real milestone for us, becoming one of only a handful of family bakers to reach the ripe old age of 100. In fact, according to a quick google search, only 3% of family businesses survive beyond their fourth generation. No pressure! Here are just a few of the highlights from the year.

We kicked off the celebrations in January with a competition to win a year’s worth of cake. We didn’t think this would be very popular considering January is the season of diets and gym memberships but our inbox was flooded with entries! Laura from Lancashire won the competition and has so far been sent a total of 360 cakes, with a different variety each month. There are still two more months to go, so by the end of the year we will have sent Laura 432 cakes! Enough for more than one cake a day for a whole year.

In February we ran a Valentine’s competition to win some branded merch. These aprons sold out pretty quickly but we still have some tote bags available in our shops if you’re stuck for gift ideas.

On the 1st of April we launched Navigation Breadcrumbs – cheaper than a sat nav and tastier too. Simply leave a trail of breadcrumbs everywhere you go and never get lost again.

Emma from Bristol won our next big competition in the Spring – a home baking kit, including a Kenwood mixer. Emma, could we please have Tristan back now.

During the summer we visited Wildfarmed for a farm tour to learn all about regenerative farming. We sniffed soil, skipped through wheat and came back wiser. We now have several products made using Wildfarmed grains, including our Wild Granola.

Photobooth

September marked the actual month of our 100th year! So we had a big bash for the whole team (old and new). It was a day to remember – read more here.

Festive-Hamper

On December 10th we picked the winner of a huge festive regional hamper. Sam from Gloucester was the lucky winner, picked at random from over 1,000 entries!
